Fund Identity
What it is, who runs it, where it lives.
The Global X Dow 30® Covered Call & Growth ETF seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Cboe DJIA Half BuyWrite Index..
The Fund tracks the Cboe DJIA Half BuyWrite Index by holding the 30 component stocks of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and selling (writing) one-month at-the-money call options corresponding to approximately 50% of the portfolio's value on a monthly basis. This partially covered call strategy generates option premium income while retaining roughly half of the upside participation in the Reference Index. Options are cash-settled, exchange-traded, and rolled monthly. The Fund generally employs full replication of the Underlying Index.

The Fund writes one-month at-the-money call options on the DJIA corresponding to approximately 50% of the value of the equity portfolio, creating a half buy-write strategy. Options are exchange-traded, held to expiration, and settled in cash, with positions rolled monthly. By covering only 50% of the portfolio, the strategy retains partial upside participation relative to a fully covered call approach.

ROC is not free money — it lowers your cost basis. When shares are sold, capital gains are computed against the lower basis.
Composition · Narrative
The May 2026 distribution of $0.0899 per share is composed of 79.14% return of capital ($0.0712) and 20.86% net investment income ($0.0188), with no capital gains component. On a fiscal year-to-date basis, 72.89% of cumulative distributions have been classified as return of capital. DYLG estimates it has distributed more than its income, meaning a significant portion is being returned to shareholders rather than reflecting fund earnings.

Price $27.67 is above the 200-day SMA ($26.01); 50-day SMA $26.88. The 50-day SMA sits above the 200-day — an established uptrend, no recent crossover. Moving-average signals are a timing aid, not a recommendation — weigh them against the distribution profile and framework score.
