TYG is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company that concentrates at least 90% of its total investments in securities of energy infrastructure companies, including midstream pipeline, gathering and processing, and power and utility infrastructure entities. The fund invests primarily in equity securities (including MLP common units and corporate equity) but may also invest up to 25% in debt securities of energy infrastructure companies. The fund employs financial leverage (targeting approximately 25% of total assets) through debt securities and preferred stock to enhance returns, and may also employ a covered call options strategy to generate additional current income.

Ordinary Income
The fund may write covered call options on individual securities or baskets of securities to generate current income from premiums received. By writing covered calls, the fund forgoes potential appreciation above the exercise price in exchange for the premium received but retains the risk of decline in the underlying securities. The fund may terminate its obligation by effecting a closing purchase transaction.

ROC is not free money — it lowers your cost basis. When shares are sold, capital gains are computed against the lower basis.
Composition · Narrative
Distributions may include ordinary income, capital gain dividends, and return of capital components. High portfolio turnover may increase recognition of net short-term capital gains, distributed as ordinary income, and net capital gains distributed as capital gain dividends. High turnover may also increase current and accumulated earnings and profits, resulting in a greater portion of distributions being treated as taxable dividends.

Bullish — 50-DMA above 200-DMA
Price $42.58 is above the 200-day SMA ($42.40); 50-day SMA $42.78. The 50-day SMA sits above the 200-day — an established uptrend, no recent crossover. Moving-average signals are a timing aid, not a recommendation — weigh them against the distribution profile and framework score.
